- Paul WoolseyFeb, 15 2022★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I was giving this cookery class as a last minute surprise gift and looked forward to being taught some Mexican dishes to improve my culinary skills. After confirming our tickets with a member of staff, we then sat down with our aprons on ready to get cooking. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to actually cook or touch any food as the first 15 minute were spent watching one person at a time rolling and mixing pastry. We were then told by a member of staff that our tickets were not correct (even though the time and date were correct on the confirmation and they couldn't prove otherwise). We were told the only way we could stay in the class is by paying an extra £20 each otherwise we would have to leave. We refused to pay more as we had already paid once! We got up and left, which was very embarrassing. This is obviously some kind of scam they have going to get extra money out of people. After reading other reviews whist writing this, I can see we aren't the only ones this has happened to (see 'the smart school of cookery', it's their overarching name ). We managed to get our money back through Groupon luckily. Avoid!!
